Mouton Noir

The MOUTON NOIR by Melissa Clulow might just be the easiest, coziest hat you'll ever knit. It's worked straight up in stockinette in-the-round from cast-on to the beginning of crown decreases. When the knitting is finished, the brim is created by simply folding the fabric up from the cast-on edge and tacking it in place with four evenly spaced stitches.

The original version of this hat features Julie Asselin's gorgeous Boucle yarn but we've reimagined it as a sleeker more tailored accessory in our version knit with GRACE and HAZE held together.

Modifications:

We cast on our new version with a needle one size smaller than gauge needle for a snugger fit at brim. We knit 5 rows with smaller needle and then switched to regular gauge needle. Remainder of hat was knit as written.
