✨ New kit alert: SCRAPPY YOKE SWEATER by @olgaputanodesigns!⁠ ⁠ The Scrappy Yoke Sweater by Olga Putano is a joy to knit and an excellent choice for anyone new to colourwork. Floats are never longer than three stitches, and you’ll only work with two colours at a time, making it approachable as well as beautiful. I’ve loved knitting mine - even if it didn’t quite make it off my needles for launch day!⁠ ⁠ Worked seamlessly from the top down, it starts with a neat short collar and a few back-neck shaping rows. Yoke increases happen mostly on plain rounds, then you’ll separate for the sleeves and continue with the gorgeous colourwork motif. I can’t believe it’s been exactly 5 years since I designed the Mousseux sweater and it’s still going strong in my wardrobe! Boxy and slightly cropped with straight sleeves cinched at the wrist, this wardrobe staple is so light and warm and easy to wear ✨. I’m toying with the idea of casting on a new one and thought maybe it would be a good time to add some kits to the website for it too. It’s knit with Halo held double. My WIP pile looks harmless enough but it is officially stressing me out 😬. Hello friends -⁠ ⁠ I’ve been delaying this post while hoping for more clarity but it’s time to formally share some important news with our US customers.⁠ ⁠ As of August 29th, the United States is ending what’s called the de minimis exception. Up until now, this rule allowed small shipments (under $800 US in value) to cross the border without extra tariffs or import duties. Once the exception ends, all packages entering the US, regardless of their value, will be subject to new tariffs and fees.⁠ ⁠ I am still researching and exploring options, but to ensure that all current orders arrive safely under the old rules, we will be PAUSING US orders starting August 24th. If you’ve had your eye on a project or have been planning to stock up, I encourage you to place your order by Sunday evening!⁠ ⁠ In the meantime, I will continue working to gather as much information as possible so I can be transparent about the added costs to expect after the 29th. Of course, as soon as I know more, I will share the details with you and figure out the best way forward - always with the goal of keeping Sonder yarns as accessible as possible.⁠ ⁠ Thank you for your patience and for being here through all the crazy twists and turns 2025 has brought!
