Hilly Hood by Anne Ventzel
The HILLY HOOD by Anne Ventzel is a beautiful modern take on a traditional balaclava and we're here for it! We knit our version using Sunday Morning DK held with Halo for a perfect cozy helmet of protection against the elements. The roomy fit keeps it stylish and makes it easy to push back or pull up as needed.
The pattern is worked from the top down in broken rib. To begin, a square is knit for the top and then stitches are picked up and knitted along the sides of the square, the sides are worked down from there while increases and decreases are worked across the back. The stitches are joined in the round under the chin and the neck is worked in the round until the back stitches are bound off. The front stitches are then worked flat back and forth. To finish, the stitches are picked up around the face opening and a rib edge is worked.
Images showing just 1 skein of DK are for colour reference only, 2 skeins are included in the kit.
